Apple is at the top in U.S among all Smartphone sales while Android leading elsewhere, according to Kantar Worldpanel.

Smartphone’s by Samsung are considered most popular around the world but in the market of U.S, Apple has gained the top position through its iPhone 5. Kantar World Panel Com Tech has released the latest figure which shows that among all Smartphone sales Apple’s iPhone 5 accounted for 48 percent sales in the country. Android accounted for about 46.7 percent of total sales in the previous twelve weeks.

According to Kantar, Android is ahead of iOS by a wide margin. The sale of Android in Germany accounted for about 73.9 percent of sales and in Spain it accounted for 81.7 percent of sale. Italy is considered to be the strongest market for Nokia’s sale where sale of Windows phone reached 12 percent of all sales.

Kantar collects the data from following countries: Germany, France, Spain, U.S, Great Britain, Italy, Australia, Urban China and Brazil. Among all these countries U.S is the only country where the sale of iPhone is dominating over Android.

Dominic Sunnebo an analyst surveyed eight countries and the result showed that Samsung is at the top brand among all Smartphone brands and accounted for 21.7 percent of sales. Apple has occupied second place and HTC is at the third place.

Sunnebo told TechCrunch that although Samsung is dominating the Android sales but in U.S, I suppose HTC will give strong competition to Motorola and Samsung in next two quarters through its new device Droid DNA on Verizon.

Android sales in China accounted for 67.5 percent of sales, whereas Apple accounted for only 20 percent of the sales in China. In Brazil 30 percent of the Smartphone sales accounted to Symbian.

According to Sunnebo some markets are still challenging for Apple and iPhone. Germany proved to be a tough market for Apple whereas Android is doing well in this country. Apple’s share fell by 5.1 percent.
