Free Video Calling App Tango Gets 100 Million Users And iPad Support

The “All-in-One Social Networking App” recently hit a milestone with 100 million users. To celebrate, and to generate a few more users, the app’s development team, has optimized Tango Text, Voice and Video for the iPad, making excellent use of the larger screen and offering fun new in-call animations and games.

Tango lets you call, text, and have a video chat with everyone in your contact list that also uses the app. You can either use it with Wi-Fi or 3G and 4G networks. You can send texts, pictures, and even video messages to friends and family.

This all also includes fun features like “Tango Surprises” which allow you to incorporated animations into your video calls. Plus, you can play games in real time with the person you are talking to right in the app. Tango’s games include Reversi, Toon Tag, Snow Fight, Squish, Tic-Tac-Toe, Backgammon, and Checkers. Since every call and message is free, you can play as many games as you like without worrying about using up precious call minutes.

Keep in mind that calls on 3G and 4G networks affect limited data subscriptions, so be smart and move to a Wi-Fi hotspot if you want to play a game of checkers with your buddy in real time.

A few other cool features that are included with this free app are real-time filters for your video calls. For example, you can change your call to black-and-white, or comic book style.

You can also send premade greetings and even record a message to send to a friend.

The app can be used across multiple operating systems, so if your brother is one of those anti-Apple people (I’m looking at you, Mike), you can still talk to him from your iPad while he is on his Samsung “Whatever.”

Tango is free to download and available today in the App Store. Grab a copy for your iPad and iPhone, and start calling now.
